Is there no free plan?
Your Last Letter offers no free plan. There are a number of reasons why not:
Your Last Letter requires care and security. We invest in safety, reliable storage, and a thoughtful delivery process – and that’s something we simply can’t provide for free.
No ads, no selling of your data. Your words remain private, so we cover the costs with a fair subscription instead of advertising or data sales.
Reliability for the long term. By asking for a contribution, we can ensure your messages are safely preserved and delivered at exactly the right moment.

What’s included in the Basic vs. Premium plan?
The Basic plan is perfect if you want to start small. It lets you add up to 5 contacts and create 15 personal messages, with a simple check-in schedule and delivery up to 6 months after your passing.
The Premium plan is designed for those who want more freedom. You can add up to 25 contacts, prepare 75 messages, customize your check-in frequency, and schedule delivery up to 24 months later. Premium also unlocks other extra’s such as attachments and images for in your messages.
Can I try Your Last Letter for free before subscribing?
Both subscription start with a 14 day free trial. To get started, simply create an account & choose your plan. For administration & validation purposes you have to enter your payment information – no worries, we won’t charge you unless you continue with us after the trial ended.
If you don’t want to continue with us after you’re trial, you can simply cancel the subscription.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan later on?
Of course. You can switch between Basic and Premium whenever you like.
When you upgrade, the new features are unlocked immediately. You’ll only pay the price difference for the rest of your current billing period.
If you choose to downgrade, the change will take effect at your next renewal date. Until then, you’ll stay on your current plan. Please note: downgrading is only possible if your account fits within the Basic plan limits.
What happens to my account if I stop paying?
If your subscription ends, your account and drafts remain safe, but you won’t be able use Your Last Letter. We’ll keep your data for 30 days, so you can come back when you’re ready. After 30 days, your account and it’s data will be deleted.
What happens to my account when I’ve passed away?
When the system assumes you’ve passed away (after missed check-ins and reminders), your subscription is automatically switched to a special Past Away plan. This ensures your account stays active and your messages are still delivered as you intended – without your family needing to manage anything.
The Past Away plan is free of charge.
Privacy & security
How secure are my messages and attachments?
We take security very seriously. Your messages are stored encrypted; backups are securely stored & encrypted. If you’d like, you can protect your account with two-factor authentication for logins.
Will my contacts know I am using Your Last Letter?
No – not until they receive your message. Contacts only get involved when a message is sent to them after your passing. This way, you remain in full control of who knows and when.
In every message your contacts receive, there’s a small note at the bottom. It explains that Your Last Letter has delivered the email on your behalf, and it includes a link where they can read more if they wish.
What happens to my data if I cancel my subscription?
If you cancel, we’ll keep your data safely stored for 30 days in case you decide to come back. If you prefer your account to be removed completely upon cancellation, you can request a full deletion at any time.
Functionality & limitations
How many contacts and messages can I add in each plan?
Basic: up to 5 contacts and 15 messages
Premium: up to 25 contacts and 75 messages
Can I add attachments (like photos or documents) to my messages?
Yes, the Premium subscription allows you to attach photos, PDFs, audio files and other documents to make your message more personal. This is a great way to share a memory, a letter, or even important instructions.
How long after my passing will my messages be sent?
You decide. With Basic, delivery can be scheduled up to 6 months after your passing. With Premium, this extends up to 24 months. Each message has its own timing, so you remain in full control.
